Healthy Active Learning - Bike Your Backyard 2022

Wainuiomata kids hit the streets in a successful event promoting the importance of active travel for tamariki. Year six students from various Wainuiomata Primary Schools participated in a fun day of riding in their community visiting their neighbouring kura to play games and enjoy some kai. This helped to increase students’ confidence and road safety awareness as they prepare for intermediate next year. This event wouldn’t have been possible without the collaboration of various organisations; a massive ngā mihi to Hutt City Council, Bikes in Schools, Pedal Ready, Greater Wellington Regional Council, MAS, Ride Holidays, TAKA Trust, and Nuku Ora. Planning is already underway for the 2023 event!
