What can you apply for?
- Venue or equipment hire
- Costs of transport to the event
- Support for volunteers or activity delivery staff
- Equipment (where this is required as part of a project or activity)
- Officials, where these are required for the delivery of the opportunity
- Costs associated with developing and removing barriers to the activity.
Note: this is not an exhaustive list – if you have something in mind, we can talk with you to figure out if it falls under the Tū Manawa remit. However, we do not fund ongoing salaries, facilities costs, or capital expenses (e.g., buildings, field development).

- For-profit businesses/commercial organisations/social enterprises
- Education providers (e.g., school/kura).
Drop-in application sessions
We will run these application sessions with the idea that you will come out of them with a finished (or almost finished) application ready for submission, supported by us at Nuku Ora. We will run these sessions quarterly (every three months), with both an in-person and online version run in the same week.
Key dates:
- Wednesday 30th October 2024 (in-person at the Old Courthouse, Holloway Street, Carterton) and Monday 4th November 2024 (online)
- Monday 3rd February 2025 (online) and Wednesday 5th February 2025 (in-person, location TBC)
- Monday 7th April 2025 (online) and Wednesday 9th April 2025 (in-person, location TBC)
